Hello Annmarie - Thanks for kind reply and support. My mother died at age 46 due to cancer, and my dad at age 56 due to heart desease. I am now 57 years of age and miss my parents, along with the memories of growing up in The Bronx. I left The Bronx arond age 17 and traveled to California to visit relatives that moved from Poughkeepsie. To make a long story short, it wasn't my plan to stay in California, but rest was history and this is home to me now. I find my self these past 4 years longing for any information I can find or that connects my parents with others from the old neighborhood. I was able to get some info about 3 years ago thanks to Back In The Bronx web from an aquaintance that knew my father growing up. That peson has since died too. But considering all their age ranges now, the chances are diminishing due to death or the old timers just do not use the internet much. Considering my parents short time on this earth, and by the time I grew into adulthood, have my own family and slow down long enough to think about my parents past, I missed my opportunity to learn more about my parents and grandparents becasue they are no longer here. Do you know what I mean? I still travel to The Bronx / Queens and parts of NYC every few years, either to visit my sister and her family, or passing through on business.
Thanks again for taking time to reply to my ad.
Best Regards,
Steve Dunne
