Sorry Mr. Wiggles but I started clubbing at dance clubs around the start of the hip hop era, maybe a bit before during the disco days and then I was going to Manhattan clubs like The Roxy, GG Barnums, and others. I did know some guys that went to non dance clubs to watch bands, maybe they also went to dance clubs, I'll have to ask them.

'Sup. Chuck here from Bushwick. I grew up in the 310 1/2. Rubberband(papo), lived on 156th and Elton avenue. An amazingly flexible guy, hence the name. We also used to hit many hooky parties during that time mostly thrown by the many gangs throughout the south Bronx. Moved to Bushwick in "73 and wound up hitting clubs like the,"Salsa", on Myrtle and Bway, the orange peel and the red light on madison and central were lil dave of the lil dave rockers and I won the dance contest. I still have all that music. Great times.

Hey Wiggles,
Started rockin' around '72 i think when "its just begun"came out. pushing 50 years old now so I was about 13ish. The 310 1/2 used to do hooky parties too for a bit and thats where it started.
I know rubberband had some dominican in him so he was probably mixed if not all dominicaan. I'm not sure where his parents lived after 156 and elton/
i wasnt in st marys park when he got stabbed but i do know it was over a dice game. Did you know a plane also crashed in st marys?
I was born and raised on tremont and bathgate so i frequented echo park alot as well as crotona park. I also still head up to tremont and 3rd for pizza every now and then. theyve been there since 1961.

my sista used to go as well...lol

yea i heard about the crash to, on the big rock!
i used to hang in st marys.

Im also in Rock Steady crew, we had allot of members up in crotona.

Thanx for the info brotha. Any other info on the scene back then, the clothes, people, other dope Bronx Rockers, would be much appreciated. I use it to teach young BBOYS what went down back in the late 60's early 70's.
its so important. And cats like Rubberband were part of the missing link

peace and thanx again brotha Chuck
