At age 14 Kathy Young, caught the eye of Wink Martindale and within weeks had a #1 hit on the charts with The Innocents....called "A Thousand Stars". For 5 yrs she toured with Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers,The Shirells and appeared on American Bandstand 4 times where she received her Gold record for "A Thousand Stars". She recorded a series of hits with Chris Montez as "Chris and Kathy".
In 1965 she married John Maus of the Walker Brothers, moved to England where The Walker Brothers found success sharing the top spot on the charts with the Bealtles and Rolling Stones. She returned to the United States in 1969, remarried in 1971 and spent the next 20 yrs raising her family and spending time on the family ranch. In 1994 she returned to L.A. where she works for a major International Company she also returned to her original passion, music. Since her return she has performed on the PBS Doo*** Special and some of the countries premier venues. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop....... |
