You cheated, you lied,
You said that you love me
You cheated, you lied
You said that you want me
Oh, what can I do
but just keep on loving you?

Love is something you know nothing about
Love is somethng you can't go without
So please try to love me
Love me like I love you

Oh, please try to love me
Love me like I love you

You cheated, you lied
You said that you love me
You cheated, you lied,
You said that you want me
Oh, what can I do?
Oh, what can I do?
Oh, what can I do?

This is one of the new songs that The Innocents added to their new show for the summer. This song by The Shields was originally done by The Slades on Domino records, Randy Woods owner of Dot records put it out by The Shields and Porky Chedwick at W.A.M.O Pa. played it incessantly and made it a huge hit.

This song is all about young couples everywhere who lie/cheat and how there are hurt. The words can relate to the 50's/60's or even 2002/2008......these oldies are all about young love and the perils that come along with that first kiss.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop.......

Your a wealth of music information there Jose, do you just know all this stuff or do you research it?

Remember that girl group I think we're talking about the same group. I was at a BBQ yesterday and the topic came up, I heard that the leader of the group was involved with the Gambino family in NJ she was an old girlfriend to a guy in Oak Ridge NJ he ran a construction company, any of this sound right? This girl group hung around Slattery Park early 60's, they had to be local girls but I can't seem to remember any names, there were a couple of Hispanic guys that were always with them.

Is this group appearing in the New York area or close by, would love to see if this is the group.

Being with my Angel for 4 years, I guess I learned a little, but I really got into the music when I retired.

My Angel lived in NJ for a long time, but I haven't an idea about mob involvement. The original Innocents were Melody, Marlene, Kathy
and big Roe, along with Tommy G. and Johnny G. all except big Roe lived around 183rd St. or Morris Ave.

You can e-mail me for a schedule.

Great to be back home, the weekend was great, Tony it was a pleasure to meet you, I'm glad you and your cousin Mario had a good time, nothing beats sitting and listening to those golden oldies. All the acts were great, I love the Duprees, I've seen them countless times and every time the show gets so much better. Next time I'm in the Bronx I'll have to stop by and have some pizza. Glad I could get you into the show......see it pays to know someone. Take care.

Hello Tony, I'm looking forward to coming to the Bronx in a couple of weeks, I'll make my way over to Arthur Ave to meet up with you. As always I'll be going to City Island, I never leave NY without a trip there, and a tour around the old neighborhood. I make several stops all over the place, brings back those memories of a better time and place of my youth.
Till then......
