Do you remember the school songs from public school days in the Bronx?
I have an actual copy of the CRIMSON AND GOLD sheet music from P.S.46.
Be in touch if this interests you.

. . . the William Lloyd Garrison School (PS 31) may have had variations, or altogether different song than the one we had to learn for graduation in the early '70s which went like this:
  • The time has come
    For us to leave forever
    The school where we
    Have spent such happy days...
But 'ere we go, we make a last endeavor,
To voice in song our gratitude and praise.
For '31 has been a tender mother
    To guide our steps
    In learning's pleasant ways...
    Through all our lives
    We'll reverence and love her,
    And live according to
    Her precepts all our days...

Ours went:

De Witt C,

where two plus two make THREE!

Actually it went:

DE WITT C L-I-N-T-O-N... BOOM!

(nobody knows the rest by heart.)

Clinton, oh Clinton, ever to thee,
fairest of high schools,
give her three-times-three, oh fellows.
Long may we cherish thee,
faithful we'll be,
Clinton, oh Clinton, for you and me

But that was just a fight song. Alma Mater went like this...

Clinton alma mater
Thy name we sing.
May our endeavors,
praise and glory bring to you throughout the future.
Clinton alma mater,
home of our youth,
to thee forever our fondest love.
