I did. Do you remember when people would stand in front of TV stores to watch a TV show. A TV could cost 1/3 as much as a car. Not too many people had one

My early TV watching was the Heavyweight chmpionship fights. I watched it at my friend house who had one of those round screen TVs.

A little later I would watch Uncle Miltie on Tuesday nites at a bar, We did not drink, but ordered pizza and Pepsi.

I was very fortunate in that my parents did buy a TV in the early 50's...my earliest memory would be when I was 5 in 1956 watching Howdy Doody.

HI Mike, Oh my gosh, The Millionaire! I sure do remember it. And the benefactor was someone named John Beresford Tipton, or something like that. Never saw his face....just his desk and maybe his hand, as he told Michael Anthony who the next Millionaire was going to be and why. Great show. I was a kid and I hoped he'd call my house, because we were pretty darned poor! Thanks for the memory of that. I also loved Uncle Milty and Pinkie Lee....when I was really small. God bless. Kris

Any body here remember Ding Dong School with Miss Whatshername. How about that filmy thing that you put on the t.v. screen and traced what they drew, that was fun untill I didnt put it on the screen and drew on the front of the picture tube. Later years it was the Dick Clark show from some theater in Manhatten, that was on in the evenings,, not the American Bandstand Show,, that was from Philly. Peace,,,Craig
Been thinking, and it seems to me that the filmy thing for the t.v. screen was a "winky-dink" and the Dick Clark Show was from "The Little Theater", if I am wrong please feel free to set me straight. Big Grin

HI there, I sure do remember Ding Dong School, and miss Whatshername....I can't remember her name, either, but I was a regular watcher of that program. Remember Pinkie Lee?

Does anyone remeber a show called Rinky-Dink.
Kids had to put a plastic sheet over the tv screne and then kids at home could draw along with the cartoon characters. Some kids didn't have the plastic covering so they drew right on the tv itself, yea, they got into trouble.

How about FURY .I think Peter Graves played the father, they lived on a ranch. There was also Sky King. His niece would always get in trouble and wind up locked in a closet.
