Read in the newspaper that one of the members of The Tokens has died, they had that big hit
The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Hank Medress, 68 died June 18th at his home in Manhattan from Lung Cancer. They had a couple of other hits but nothing compared to The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

He went to Brooklyn Lincoln HS and formed a group called the Linc-Tones in 1955 with Neil Sedaka, who left the group to go onto a very successful solo career. Jay Siegel joined the group and they were than known as The Tokens.
