What live concerts did you attend as a teen-agers? Were you a groupie of your local garage band or of the Beatles, Stones, or Sex Pistols?

I saw the Beatles second performance live at the Ed Sullivan show and Barbra in Central Park - details to follow - anyone else?

Barry ~ where were the Freed show's held - I've always wondered.

Yvonne ~ I would go to U2 - but I don't know the others.

I was a Beatles Fan (still am on the oldie stations) I went to that 2nd Sullivan performance, Forest Hills, Shea Stadium, and Carnegie Hall - and loved every minute of them all. The Shea Stadium concert was the best ever - simply because of the noise, stomping, and clapping. No I couldn't hear them sing at all, but half way through, the stadium began to vibrate and it felt like the first incline at the top of a wooden roller coaster. Then a wave of motion went through the bleachers and I swore the structure itself "gave" a little - everyone looked at each other knowing a thrill of terror but it was so exciting - we didn't care at all. I remember my hearing didn't come back for days.

Thanks Barry - in small movie theaters/venues, that must have been really exciting. There were over 50,000 Beatle fans at Shea.

In the 1960's, I was a frequent attendee at the Fillmore East. Most notable performer was Janis Joplin.
